Laboratory of Molecular

Epizoothology and Diagnostics

Home page

The Laboratory was founded in 2001, as Sector of Molecular Diagnostics. The Sector was transformed into Laboratory of Molecular Diagnostics as a part of Laboratory of Biotechnology and Biochemistry since 2003.

Researchers staff: 1 DVM, ScDr; 1 biologist, ScDr; 2 researchers, 3 junior researchers.

Laboratory has several directions of investigation:

· Development and improvement of diagnostic aids for different infections.

· Typing of pathogenic organisms by PCR-analyses.

· Analyses of genes and genomes of viruses and microorganisms by sequence, RFLP and bioinformatics methods for primer design, study of phylogenetic correlations and characteristic of nucleic acid structure  properties.

·  Applied genomics and proteomics aspects for molecular biotechnology purpose of veterinary drugs prosuction

Researchers of the Laboratory investigate diagnostic aids against viral and bacterial animal infections.

The Laboratory provide for practice more than 50 tests for different diseases diagnostics, including: contagious bovine leucosis, tuberculosis (with Mycobacterium species difference), chlamidiosis, leptospirosis, bovine virus diarrhea, infectious rhinotracheitis, different species mycoplasmosis, hog cholera, transmissible gastroenteritis of pigs, PRRS, avian influenza, Newcastle’s disease, Marek’s  disease, infected bronchitis et al.
